{"id":2,"date":"2012-06-22T07:22:01","date_gmt":"2012-06-22T07:22:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fedastro.org.uk\/wp\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2025-11-11T12:51:26","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T12:51:26","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fedastro.org.uk\/fas\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Federation of Astronomical Societies is a union of astronomical societies, groups and clubs, liaising together, where practicable, for their mutual benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Benefits include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u2022 Access to Public Liability Insurance for societies at a reasonable rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u2022 Resource Centre containing documents providing a common framework for the running of astronomical societies and their outreach activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u2022 A regular Newsletter where societies can feature their events and information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u2022 Conventions featuring prominent Speakers from Academic and Industrial backgrounds.
