J. Thompson Avenue. The main car park is the first entrance on the right after leaving Madingley Road. It is worth noting that the A14 can be very busy and it is worth giving yourself lots of time. If you are using the bus, the citi 4 bus is the best route from the city centre to the Institute of Astronomy, though the service is infrequent. Further information can be found on the IoA webpages – a Google map of the location is also embedded on that page.

If you require a local map of the IoA please see here.

Local Information:

The Institute of Astronomy has ample car parking and please remember there is an overspill car park up by the Kavli building.

Please also be aware that there is no facilities for lunch at the IoA apart from a small vending machine. Please bring pack lunches. The nearest pub to the IoA can be found on Castle Hill/Huntindgon Road. The Castle will serve food but parking is difficult, and the same can be found with the Isaac Newtown. There is also a Beefeater pub that is further up the Huntingdon Road that has lots of parking – this is easily walkable from the IoA, passed the Chemistry building and through the University farm.

2013 Convention & AGM The 2013 FAS Convention took place on October 19th 2013 at the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge.
