{"id":209,"date":"2012-08-29T14:51:24","date_gmt":"2012-08-29T14:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fedastro.org.uk\/wp\/?p=209"},"modified":"2012-08-29T14:51:24","modified_gmt":"2012-08-29T14:51:24","slug":"grants-for-stargazing-events-in-october","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fedastro.org.uk\/fas\/grants-for-stargazing-events-in-october\/","title":{"rendered":"Grants for stargazing events in October"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Around the times of the clock change in October the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darkskydiscovery.org.uk\/\" target=\"_self\">Dark Sky Discovery<\/a><br \/>\nproject will be promoting a number of events around the UK to<br \/>\nencourage the general public to enjoy the night sky.<\/p>\n<p>The project has obtained funding from STFC to help local astronomical<br \/>\nsocieties to run events during the period, and has asked the FAS to<br \/>\nassist with the coordination and distribution of the grants. In<br \/>\naddition to the STFC funding, the FAS is matching the amount the STFC<br \/>\nare providing to help more societies run events.<\/p>\n<p>Briefing notes and an application form can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/fedastro.org.uk\/fas\/fedastro.org.uk\/docs\/GrantsforOctober2012Events.doc\" target=\"_self\">here<\/a> .<br \/>\nPlease note the following:<br \/>\n1. The window for events that will be supported is October 20th to<br \/>\nNovember 11th 2012<br \/>\n2. Applications must be received by 17th September.<br \/>\n3. Applications will be dealt with on first-come, first-served basis,<br \/>\nso please apply as soon as you can commit to an event.<br \/>\n4.
