Stargazing Live in January 2011 was a great success and forty local astronomical societies were able to take advantage of small grants funded by the Royal Astronomical Society to run special events for the general public in their areas.

With Stargazing Live 2012 just around the corner, the Federation of Astronomical Societies is pleased to announce that a further round of grants is available to local societies running events in January 2012 with increased funding over the last round.

We have a document that explains the funding sources, and how to apply – this can be found in Applying for a grant 2012.

In addition to registering your events on the BBC ‘Things to Do’ website, we would welcome you logging your events in our FAS Events Diary.
