The Federation of Astronomical Societies is a union of astronomical societies, groups and clubs, liaising together, where practicable, for their mutual benefit.
Benefits include:
• Access to Public Liability Insurance for societies at a reasonable rate.
• Resource Centre containing documents providing a common framework for the running of astronomical societies and their outreach activities.
• A regular Newsletter where societies can feature their events and information.
• Conventions featuring prominent Speakers from Academic and Industrial backgrounds. Members of FAS affiliated societies can purchase tickets at reduced rates.
The FAS was formed in 1974 and today around 200 astronomical societies are FAS Members, not only in the United Kingdom but also overseas.
